Talent Showcase Africa Playlist & Radio Charts: The Hits Edition, 18th August 2023

On today’s Talent Showcase Africa Playlist that airs Friday 18th August at 2100 CAT via ENERGY100 fm (Or tune in via DStv audio bouquet on channel 868), Nam Radio Local at 1800 CAT and repeated daily, and in the USA & Nigeria on Sunday via High-Grade Radio at 1200, Dallas, USA time (see WorldTimeZone), we bring you another helping of The Hits Edition showcasing the platform’s biggest tunes, comprising previous Top 3 Singles Chart hits and a couple of brilliant new singles debuting on the show for the first time today.

Tracks debuting on the Playlist today are from Laconi & Dof [Guadeloupe], AVA (South Africa), Karen Petersen [South Africa], and Teh Bah (Nigeria).

On this week’s Chart, we have a brand new entry at number 3, by Ayanfe from Nigeria with Laba Laba. Ayanfe was last on the Chart in April-May with the single Temptation which spent 4 weeks on the chart and peaked at number 2. Last week’s number 2 single Sthandwa Sam (ft. Posh Spice) by South African Amapiano artists Teddy M & TT stays put at number 2 on the chart for a second week. And still at number 1 on the Talent Showcase Africa Radio Charts for the FOURTH consecutive week, is JèJè (ft. The Wave) by Nigerian Afro R&B artist Amah Mabiaku. Enjoy!

JaxHeart, a bongo flava artist from Tanzania whose single AYEBA spent 5 weeks on the Chart, 2 weeks at number one, opens the show with his latest single One In A Million. Tofa Jaxx from Tanzania, whose single Restart spent 3 weeks at number 1 and 5 weeks on the Chart is back on the Playlist with the hit single Restart. Namibia’s Keynote, whose song No Lie graced the number 1 spot on the Chart for 2 weeks and spent 3 weeks on the Chart is back on this special edition playlist. And there’s Nigerian Afrobeat sensation who topped the Chart with Maria (ft. Simba) and spent 5 weeks on the Chart overall, one week at number 1. Last week’s number 2 single Piiki Piki (ft. Leendor South) by South African Amapiano act Teddy M & Posh Spice slips one place to number 3 but in a surprise twist Amapiano track Sthandwa Sam (ft. Posh Spice) by Teddy M & TT, which only entered the TSA Playlist last week, today is catapulted to land at number 2 on the Chart and makes Teddy M the first ever artist to have TWO singles on the Talent Showcase Africa Radio Charts in the same week. And on top of the Chart is last week’s number one single JèJè (ft. The Wave) by Nigerian Afro R&B artist Amah Mabiaku, staying put at number one for a whopping THIRD week on the Talent Showcase Africa Radio Chart. Enjoy!

Last week’s number two single Piiki Piki (ft. Leendor South) by Teddy M & Posh Spice from South Africa holds on to the number 2 position for a second week. And last week’s number one single JèJè (ft. The Wave) by Nigerian Afrobeat artist Amah Mabiaku is still on top of the chart for a second week. Enjoy!

Last week’s number 1 single Piiki Piki (ft. Leendor South) by Teddy M & Posh Spice from South Africa drops to number 2 after 3 weeks at number one. And a brand new single and a brand new artist on the TSA Playlist Amah Mabiaku from Nigeria who first appeared on the Playlist only last week, today, he breaks into the number 1 spot on the Talent Showcase Africa Radio Charts with JèJè (ft. The Wave), making this the first ever single to debut on the Chart a week after debuting on the TSA Playlist (it usually takes a while to enter the Charts). Enjoy!
