Malawian Artist BREAKS RECORD, with Longest-Running Number 1 Single On Talent Showcase Africa Radio Charts

27th November, 2023 -- I am bursting with excitement to announce that emerging Malawian afropop artist Gabbie, has been on the Talent Showcase Africa Radio Charts via Namibia’s most tuned-in mainstream radio station ENERGY100 fm with his single Sugar for EIGHT weeks, SEVEN WEEKS at number 1. The track has broken the record to become the longest-running number 1 single in the history of the Talent Showcase Africa Radio Charts.

UPDATED: Gabbie's single Sugar debuted on the TSA Radio Charts at number 2 in its first week; ascended to the top of the chart in its second week, and held on to the number 1 spot for 10 WEEKS, before descending to number 3 for its final week on the Chart... culminating a twelve-week run and maintaining its reign as the longest-running number one single in the two-year history of the Talent Showcase Africa Radio Charts.

Listen to Gabbie reigning supreme in the Talent Showcase Africa Chart rundown on November 24th, 2023 via the Podcast here.

The concept behind the Talent Showcase Africa Playlist is to bring forth the best and most promising musical talents from Africa. We meticulously screen every track to ensure that only the finest music is featured during the one-hour show. Notably, all the artists whose music we showcase are either based in Africa or in the diaspora, making this a truly authentic representation of the tremendous talent that the continent has to offer.

What sets Talent Showcase Africa Playlist apart is its accessibility. The show is available for both streaming and download, allowing listeners to enjoy it at their convenience.

We know that Gabbie’s music hasn’t received radio airplay anywhere in Malawi, and we request that stakeholders in the territory endeavor to showcase this artist to give him recognition in his own country.

Talent Showcase Africa has had an exciting journey in the radio space, discovering new African talents and showcasing them on our pan-African platform, and we’d be honored to partner up with radio, media, and entertainment platforms across Africa, to share fresh new tracks and talents with their audience.
