Emerging Artists: How to Organically Grow your Fanbase

As we celebrate the 100th Episode of the Talent Showcase Africa Playlist, I want to talk a little about how you can EXPLODE exposure for your music off the back of a radio show & podcast by cross-pollinating your music content where other artists are also promoting their music.

How Talent Showcase Africa Playlist PROMOTES Music

We compile the best song submissions into a Playlist which we syndicate to mainstream radio and host on our own Music Station Podcast platform. Each playlist is published via the Talent Showcase Africa Newsletter to our entire 6.2K mailing list, which comprises emerging African artists from the continent and the diaspora, and some fans and music industry professionals from media, record labels, and radio thrown into the mix. And so I want to talk about the POWER of sharing the Talent Showcase Africa (TSA) content to EXPAND your GLOBAL reach duly, a win-win strategy for artists on the platform. On the TSA front, we blog the show's playlist and urge our artists to share the link to the content. We have a huge base, the only trouble with emerging artists is they underestimate THEIR POWER.

How to Quadruple Your Music Circulation

Any Talent Showcase Africa Playlist has around 14 tracks. If each of the 14 artists on the show that day pushed the blog post or our emailed newsletter (viewable in the browser) to at least 100 people, that's 1,400 eyeballs. If those 1,400 circulated to around 100 people each, that's 140,000 recipients. Now, if those artists who were not ON the playlist that day did the same just for the heck of it or to support fellow emerging talents, we're looking at some SERIOUSLY MASSIVE exposure.

The potential to grow organically is HUGE using our base, without anybody's help. Emerging artists and their fans and supporters need to see this potential.   TSA is doing all the heavy lifting; creating and managing a platform with all of the infrastructure in place. All you ever have to do is work as a community, and share.

The HOTTEST Podcasts to Share for MASSIVE Growth

To jumpstart your global viral marketing campaign, sharing this blog post & TSA's greatest hits collection of emerging afrobeat and afro-pop tracks that charted on the platform in 2023 will likely bring more artists, fans, and supporters by way of FREE newsletter subscriptions and MORE shares! Ultimately, the bigger the list the further we get to share content and the faster we grow our emerging artiste fanbases.

Talent Showcase Africa Playlist has now been running on ENERGY100 fm for almost 2 years bringing recognition and exposure to emerging talents from across the African continent and the diaspora. That being said, our vision has always been to get into events. This is where we would invite our playlisted emerging African talents featured on the show to perform on stage in front of a live audience and get PAID for gigs.

So, we’ve just started up an Instagram page @RadioEventsAfrica imbued with a fresh new look and powerful attitude; where we will post information on the radio show, the live events, and music video shoot events for the hard-working artists who do well on the platform and are selected for a professional video shoot by the award-winning director Justin Campos in exotic locations in Africa. Yes, this is all in the pipeline.

But first, we invite you to follow @RadioEventsAfrica on Instagram so we can grow the platform ASAP. This is where information-driven content on every event will be published, and where we want to draw in more subscribers for our newsletter.
